The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, confirmed Today, Thursday, the necessity to provide the appropriate conditions for holding the elections.
The media office of the President of the Republic stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "President Salih received, at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the head of the Turkmen Front, Hassan Turan."
The statement added that "The meeting discussed the political and security developments in the country, and the need to enhance security and stability and create the appropriate conditions for holding the elections on the 10th of next October, in a manner that secures the right of Iraqis to vote freely."
For his part, Turan expressed "the Turkmen Front's support for the electoral code of conduct presented by the Presidency of the Republic," stressing "the importance of its provisions and the commitment of political forces to it in order to ensure the integrity and the fairness of the electoral process and its proper conduct by respecting legal regulations and creating a safe and stable environment for elections."
