Hussein arrives in Riyadh to participate in the GCC Foreign Ministers meeting

    Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein arrived, today, Thursday, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council; to participate in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
     
    "It is hoped that the ministers will discuss, during the meeting, many issues concerning the region and the relations of the surrounding countries outside the Council, in addition to regional and international issues," MOFA stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    The statement added that "Hussein will shed light on the future dimensions of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership and its reflection on foreign relations and the political and security situation in Iraq, in addition to the early elections and their importance for Iraq and the region."
     
    The talks between the minister and the Arab parties participating in the meeting will focus on economic and trade relations and the role of Gulf companies in investing in the various sectors in Iraq. The minister will also discuss the issue of interconnection with the Gulf electrical network and supplying Iraq with energy through it.
     
    Hussein will also meet with several ministers of the Gulf States in bilateral talks to discuss relations between Iraq and the countries concerned.
