Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi announced the agreement to cancel the visa between Iraq and Iran, while noting that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi agreed to increase Iran's share of the Arbaeen visitors.
Raisi said in a press conference held with Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi in Tehran and followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "good meetings took place between Iraqi officials headed by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi," noting that the meetings focused on strengthening relations between the two countries".
Raisi added that "the discussions were in the political, economic and cultural fields," expressing his hope for "the expansion of relations between Baghdad and Tehran".
And Raisi indicated that "among the topics that were agreed upon is the railway linking between Shalamcheh - Basra, and it is decided to speed up its implementation in the interest of the two countries," pointing to "the discussion of financial and banking relations between the two countries".
Raisi stated that "there is an interest in preserving the health of Arbaeen visitors of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)," declaring "Al-Kadhimi's approval to raise the number of Iranian visitors".
