President’s Adviser: All the proposals to amend the constitution are completed

    The Adviser to the President of the Republic, Ismail Al-Hadidi, announced on Sunday, completing of all the proposals to amend the constitution.
     
    "The Constitutional Amendments Committee, were formed by the Presidency of the Republic , from number legal and constitutional figures interested in Iraqi affairs,as well as the contribution of the provinces in the constitutional amendments process," Al-Hadidi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    He added, "The committee completed all the proposals, as it focused on the controversial articles in the constitution. The proposals were submitted and confirmed in the Presidency of the Republic," noting that "there are other committees in the Prime Minister's office that are interested in the same subject."
     
     
    On the other hand, Al-Hadidi explained that "There must be controls over the future electoral conduct of the electoral process in the elections of October among the political forces and the parties concerned and that controls and those controls shall be agreed upon to be adopted."
     
    "The Presidency of the Republic is exerting a lot of efforts to ensure the success of the electoral process and to encourage the transparency and integrity of the elections in order to achieve real results that are away from fraud," Al-Hadidi affirmed.
     
    It is worth mentioning that Dr. Ali Al-Shukri, the head of the President's Consultative Body announced in an exclusive interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on September 18, 2020, that "The constitutional amendment must be submitted by the Presidency of the Republic and the Council of Ministers." Noting that "the Constitutional Amendments Committee, as directed the President of the Republic, has completed its work, and the proposals for amendments must now be presented to the Council of Ministers. As a directive was issued by President Salih to communicate with the Prime Minister’s Office to present the constitutional amendments in order to produce a joint from by the Council of Ministers and the Presidency of the Republic and to take it to the parliament then it will be submitted to the popular referendum, which shall have the final say on the amendments.
