Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, on Sunday, leads a high-level government delegation to Iran on an official visit at the invitation of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi.
"The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations, open up prospects for cooperation in various fields, and focus on the depth of the relationship between the two friendly countries" , Al-Kadhimi said in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Kadhimi added , "Iraq has succeeded in playing a central role in the region by strengthening strategic partnership in accordance with the principles of supporting stability, cooperation and friendship; in order to consolidate the foundations of peace and prosperity.”
Al-Kadhimi will meet with top Iranian officials to discuss issues of common interest, promoting efforts to enhance sustainable development; In the interest of the Iraqi and Iranian peoples, as well as discussing bilateral coordination, related to regional and international issues, and the strengthening of region's security and stability, the statement affirmed.
