The Ministry of Oil stressed, on Thursday, the need to expedite completing solar energy projects, while pointing to the importance of the contracts concluded with the French company (Total).
A statement by the Ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "The Minister of Oil, Chairman of the Ministerial Council, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, presided the twenty-fourth regular session of 2021 for the Ministerial Council for Energy."
The council discussed the topics on its agenda, stressing the importance of moving forward with solar energy projects and the need to expedite their completion, as well as the work to increase the investment in this field.
According to the statement The Ministerial Council for Energy praised, the great support of Prime Minister and his sponsorship of the signing oil and energy contracts with Total Company, which constitutes a great addition to the energy industry in Iraq.
In a related issue, the statement continued that "The Council hosted the Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Vice-President of the United Nations General Assembly for Environment, Jassem Al-Falahi, who gave a comprehensive presentation on the government's efforts in the field of environment and mechanisms for implementing the commitments contained in international agreements on climate and environment, and working to develop and support clean energy projects.”
