Prime Minister expresses his appreciation for the responsible and constructive step of the Parliament in approving the amendment to the budget law

     Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani expressed his appreciation on Sunday for the responsible and constructive step taken by the Parliament in approving the amendment to the budget law. He called on the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Ministry of Oil to immediately begin implementing this amendment.
     
    In a statement, the spokesperson for the Iraqi government, Basim Al-Awadi, said: "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani expressed his appreciation for the responsible and constructive step taken by the respected Council of Representatives in approving the amendment to the Federal General Budget Law for the Republic of Iraq for the fiscal years 2023-2024-2025, Law No. 13 of 2023, in accordance with the amendment text submitted by the Council of Ministers." He added that "the Prime Minister took this opportunity to extend his thanks to the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, the First Deputy Speaker who chaired today's session, the Second Deputy Speaker, and the heads of parliamentary blocs for their understanding and support of the government's vision, which is moving forward with implementing its program in line with the priorities previously approved by the people's representatives, and which meet the aspirations of our Iraqi people across our nation."
     
    He further stated that "the vote on the amendment, in accordance with the text approved by the Council of Ministers, confirms the political stability and the atmosphere of understanding characterizing this stage. It also reflects the high level of cooperation between the government and the Council of Representatives to continue working together to maintain the momentum of development, reconstruction, and reform, which has begun and will not stop." He pointed out that "the government continues to address problems and challenges with a sense of responsibility and in line with the higher interests of Iraq."
     
    He added, "Based on this amendment, the Prime Minister calls on both the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, through its relevant institutions, and the Federal Ministry of Oil to immediately begin implementing this amendment in order to optimally invest in our natural resources, particularly oil wealth."
     
    He continued, "Let this wealth be a factor in strengthening stability and a driver for achieving more plans and programs that meet the needs of our noble people."
