The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, confirmed today, Sunday, that the region and Iraq are witnessing major transformations, while indicating that the elections should be a starting point for solutions to the current situation.
Salih said during his speech at the Al-Rafidain Forum for Dialogue, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the furnace of conflicts and tensions in the region led to one fact, which is that everyone is harmed and no one is a winner.".
He added, "The collapse of the regional system in the region is behind the persistence of its crises, and now there is an urgent need for a new system, a system of political, security and economic work to confront the challenges of the age from terrorism, economic fluctuations and dangerous climate changes.".
He added, "Yesterday, we witnessed an important event with the convening of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, and we commend the efforts of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi in organizing the Baghdad conference."
He pointed out that "the elections should be a starting point for solutions to the current situation."
