The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Sunday, that the countries of the region face a great responsibility, while noting that the stability of the region is linked to the stability of Iraq and Syria.
The media office of the President of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "President Salih received, at AL-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the Syrian ambassador to Iraq, Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah."
The meeting discussed the joint relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples that share close historical and social ties, the importance of working to develop them to serve the security, stability and interests of the two countries, and to continue the security effort to combat the remnants of terrorism, the statement added.
The President of the Republic stressed that the countries of the region have a great responsibility in overcoming crises and tensions, and the need to combine efforts and find joint dialogues to consolidate the pillars of regional stability and support the paths of cooperation and integration among the countries of the region, noting that the stability of the region is linked to the stability of Iraq and Syria.
