Secretary-General of Islamic Cooperation Organization, Youssef bin Ahmed stressed on Saturday, that Iraq is on the verge of a new phase of construction and development, calling for support Iraq regionally and internationally without interfering in internal affairs.
"I am pleased to participate in this important conference, which represents an opportunity for participation and dialogue with all countries," said Bin Ahmed, in his speech during Baghdad Conference on Cooperation and Partnership, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Bin Ahmed noted that "this initiative comes at a time that Iraq needs all the support and assistance to face the challenges,”
He added that, “Saudi Arabia encourages partnership efforts of all kinds with Iraq, reconstruction, countering terrorism and fighting extremism, as well as cooperating with everyone on issues that it shares with the international community,”
"Iraq stands today on a new phase, which is the phase of construction and development, that demands support regionally and internationally, without interfering in internal affairs and options," he explained.
He called on "the countries of the Arab, Islamic region and international institutions to support Iraq in the context of respecting its sovereignty over its land and people as to seriously respond to its sincere call to participate,”
"We are confident that Iraq, its people and economic capabilities will restore its place in the world,” he concluded.
