Iran Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian affirmed his country's support for the security and stability of Iraq.
"Iraq plays an important role in the region, and Iran supports its security and stability, as it was the first country in the region to recognize the new Iraq,” said Amir-Abdullahian in his speech during Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Amir-Abdullahian added that "Iraq has been greatly affected by the emergence of terrorist groups, and Tehran has provided support to Iraq in combating them,”
He expressed his country's welcome to Iraq's role in spreading the language of dialogue, while “praising the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
“The amount of trade exchange reached $13 billion during the past years,” he noted.
