The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday, that Baghdad conference represents a basis for dialogue in terms of investment and the economy, while indicating that the conference will not discuss controversial issues, but rather will focus on common factors.
MOFA spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that Iraq's foreign policy has undergone through qualitative and fundamental shifts from 2014 till now, as it has moved from counter-terrorism diplomacy and the call to mobilize the international effort to combat terrorism, to a policy that emphasizes the principle of investment and economics partnerships
He added that Baghdad Conference confirms and documents this essential phase, as it serves as a basis for dialogue based on investment and economy and promotes the principle of regional integration among all the countries, as well as reconsidering Baghdad as a meeting point for important strategic dialogues.
Al-Sahaf stressed that Baghdad conference will not discuss controversial issues related to politics and security, but will focus on the common factors between the meeting countries.
It is noteworthy that the capital, Baghdad, will host today, Saturday, Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, with the participation of 9 countries, as well as number of international organizations.
