The Security Media Cell announced, today, Tuesday, the arrest of a suspect according to Article 4 of terrorism in the Tarmiyah area, north of Baghdad.
The cell stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "within the security operation launched by the Joint Operations Command in the Tarmiyah district, the Special Missions Brigade in the Federal Police achieved security results within the sector of responsibility in the Tarmiyah area."
the cell added, "The outcome of the security operation resulted in the arrest of a wanted suspect in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of terrorism, while a den of terrorist gangs was found containing 6 Kalashnikov rifle , 400 Kalashnikov rifle bullets, 100 rifle cleaning brushes, two Kalashnikov rifle needles, and 10 enlightening shots." The statement indicated that "all homes, orchards and agricultural lands were inspected, 44 citizens' information was checked, 4 fish lakes, 59 orchards, and 27 ponds were inspected, in addition to opening 5 streets, and establishing two crossings," noting that "the total area that was inspected by the heroes of the brigade The special missions amounted to more than 5 square kilometres.
The statement stressed that "the federal police units continue their intensive security deployment in order to achieve the goals set according to the plans prepared to tighten full control over the area, and purify it of terrorist elements."
