Baghdad Operations Command announced on Tuesday, the arrest of four terrorists.
A statement by the Security Media Cell, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that Baghdad Operations Commander, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Salim, continues his field tours of the operations sectors and the areas around Baghdad, to oversee the combat readiness to pursue ISIS terrorist gangs, organized crime gangs and outlaws, and coordinate the intelligence efforts of all the agencies and security services with the Intelligence and Security Department of BOC.
The operations resulted in the arrest of two suspects in accordance with Article 4/1 of terrorism law, one of whom lives in Nineveh province and his whereabouts in the capital, Baghdad, and the other is from Abu Ghraib district, west of Baghdad, the statement added.
SMC pointed out that based on accurate intelligence, a force from the 44th Brigade in the Eleventh Infantry Division managed to arrest a suspect in accordance with Article (4/1) of terrorism law in "Al-Dasim" area east of Baghdad, while a force from the Intelligence Directorate of the Federal Police Forces Command arrested a suspect in accordance with Article (4/1) of terrorism law resides in Taji district, north of Baghdad.
SMC also added, that the security forces in the Eleventh Infantry Division arrested (6) defendants according to various legal articles, one of them is accused of using narcotics within Rusafa areas, while a force from the First Division, Federal Police, with a detachment from the Directorate of Combating Organized Crime, was able to arrest an accused according to Article (240 / Money Laundering Offenses) in Al-Mashtal area, and in coordination with al-Mada’in Police, another suspect was arrested in accordance with Article (406 / Intentional killing).
Meanwhile, two other suspects were arrested for trading and using narcotic substances, pointing out that the arrested persons and the seized materials were handed over to the competent authorities.
