Head of the National Security Service Abdul Ghani Al-Asadi, stressed on Monday, the importance of working in accordance with the principle of peaceful coexistence.
Al-Asadi received in his office the Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), Mansour Al-Shammari and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the agency's agents and general managers, according to a statement by the media office of the head of the Iraqi National Security Service, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
During the meeting, they discussed ways and mechanisms for developing joint cooperation to confront extremism and counter terrorism that threatens the security and stability of the region.
Al-Asadi stressed "the importance of working in accordance with the principle of intellectual moderation and peaceful coexistence between the countries and peoples of the region," stressing "the need to unify efforts to combat extremism in all its forms,”
For his part, Al-Shammari praised Iraq's efforts and the “great sacrifices it made, which contributed to achieving security and stability throughout the region”, pointing to "the importance of benefiting from the Iraqi experience in confronting terrorism,"
Al-Shammari expressed "the desire and cooperation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support Iraq through the exchange of expertise and experiences between the two sides in a way that serves the interests of both countries,"
