The Joint Operations Command (JOC) revealed on Monday, the identity of those who targets the power towers, while confirming that great efforts were exerted concerning this file.
JOC spokesman, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "those involved in targeting the power towers were arrested and interrogated, as it turned out that they were ISIS terrorists’ members, noting that the purpose behind targeting the power towers is to create chaos and security tension.
Al-Khafaji emphasized that thermal cameras have become an effective element in supporting the work of the security and intelligence services to monitor suspicious terrorist movements, especially on the Iraqi borders.
Regarding terrorist movements in western Nineveh, Al-Khafaji explained that " when we receive such information, it will be directly analyzed and verified to pursue the wanted, stressing that the security services have a quick response towards all terrorist movements.
Earlier, on the second of last July, The Joint Operations Command announced the start of special procedures to terminate targeting of energy towers, while noting that the security forces implemented the plans by using drones, air force aircraft and Iraqi army aviation.
