    The Minister of Planning, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, confirmed today, Thursday, that the government is determined to complete the Al-Faw port. 

    The media office of the Ministry of Planning said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Minister of Planning, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, visited, accompanied by the Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, and the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, the Grand Faw port project, and he was briefed on the progress of work on the project and the two western breakwaters and the Eastern" .

    According to the statement, the minister stressed, "The Grand Faw port project represents a real start for Iraq's economic renaissance, as it represents an unprecedented development value, whether by opening broad trade horizons, between Iraq and the world, east and west, or through tens of thousands of direct job opportunities. and indirect,” stressing that “

    He added that "the Ministry of Planning strongly supports the project, and it is at the top of its development priorities, as it is time for Iraq to have a sea front and a port the size of the great port of Faw, and in a way that is compatible with the vital commercial and economic location of Iraq, at the world level."
