Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi expressed, during a phone call with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, his aspiration for more bilateral cooperation with Egypt towards everything that enhances the security and stability of the region to confront the current challenges facing the peoples of the region.
A statement by the Media Office of the cabinet, of which the Iraqi News Agency (INA) received a copy, stated that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received a phone call from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, in which he congratulated him on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Adha.
The statement added that the two sides wished continued progress and prosperity for the Iraqi and Egyptian peoples, and to move forward on the path of consolidating bilateral cooperation, and joint coordination on issues of mutual interest.
For his part, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi affirmed Egypt's determination to strengthen ties of brotherhood, friendship and sustainable development with Iraq, to further coordinate bilateral stances in the interests of the two fraternal peoples and to support the efforts of the Iraqi Government in consolidating peace and security in the region.
