Rasoul: It took as a whole year to pursue Al-Hashemi murderer

    The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, confirmed today, Friday, that the work to prosecute the killers of the security and strategic expert Hisham Al-Hashemi continued for a whole year, with the follow-up of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

    Major General Rasoul said, in a statement to the Iraqi News Channel, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the arrest of Al-Hashemi's killers is a great victory for the armed forces," noting that "the intelligence effort and careful work led to untangling the threads of the crime and reaching the perpetrator."
    He added, "The work continued for a whole year, with close follow-up by the Commander in Chief," stressing that "the security and intelligence services will not hesitate to pursue the killers of journalists and activists."
    He continued, "It is unfortunate that the killer of Al-Hashemi is from the security forces," noting that "the punishment for the killer of Al-Hashemi will be severe, as he is an officer in the security forces."

    He revealed, "there is a plan to limit the movement of motorcycles."

    The Iraqi News Agency (INA) published Today, Friday, the full details of the so-called Ahmed Al-Kinani, the killer of the security and strategic expert Hisham Al-Hashemi.
    According to the confessions of Al-Kinani, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the latter was born in 1985 and belongs to an outlaw group.
    The so-called Ahmed al-Kinani admitted that he was "appointed to the police force in 2007 and works as a police officer with the rank of first lieutenant in the Ministry of Interior."
    The so-called Ahmed al-Kinani said: "We gathered in the Al-Buaitha area and went with two bikes and a Corola wheel to carry out the assassination."
    And Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi announced, earlier today, the arrest of the killers of Hisham Al-Hashemi.  
    Al-Kadhimi said in a tweet on his account on “Twitter”, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We promised to arrest the killers of Hisham Al-Hashemi and we fulfilled the promise, and before that we put the death squads and the killers of Ahmed Abdul-Samad before justice, and our forces arrested hundreds of criminals involved in the blood of innocents.".
