World number one Novak Djokovic defeated Italian seventh seed Matteo Berrettini 6-7 6-4 6-4 6-3 to win the Wimbledon title for the sixth time, today, Sunday.
With this third win in a row, the Serbian achieved his 20th Grand Slam title, equaling the men's singles record of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
After winning the Australian Open and French Open in 2021, Djokovic has now completed three Grand Slam titles, and no player has ever won the four titles besides Olympic gold in the same year.
The 34-year-old entered the final after defeating Brittini in two previous matches, and opened the meeting with a 5-2 lead in the first set after an early break, but the Italian resisted to reach the tiebreak and excelled in it.
