Salih: Iraqi-Egyptian-Jordanian cooperation is a turning point towards peace prospects

    The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Sunday, that Iraqi-Egyptian-Jordanian cooperation is a turning point towards prospects for peace, while stressing the importance of enhancing the level of coordination between the three countries.

    A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "President Salih hosted a luncheon banquet in the Baghdad Palace in honor of His Excellency Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, where Salih welcomed the two guests and what the visit represented in great support for Iraq and its people." .
    During the banquet, which was attended by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, the President of the Republic stressed that it is an important occasion for us as Iraqis to meet to celebrate the dear guests of Iraq, President Sisi and King Abdullah, stressing the importance of the relations linking the three countries and the efforts made to strengthen and consolidate it for the benefit of our peoples and the entire region.”

    He added, "The Iraqi-Egyptian-Jordanian cooperation represents an important turning point in the region that has been beset by tensions, crises and conflicts for long periods, in order to move towards establishing security, stability and economic cooperation and to rely on dialogue and convergence in solving problems in response to the common challenges facing everyone in combating terrorism and extremism, and strengthening Economic and commercial partnerships and job opportunities for our peoples.

    Salih stressed the importance of enhancing the level of coordination between the three countries and benefiting from geographical interdependence in developing broader horizons of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and development, and establishing infrastructure, energy and oil projects, as well as continuing efforts to confront existing challenges in the fight against terrorism and extremism, and the repercussions of the Corona epidemic and climate change and environmental protection, and it was also stressed the need to continue meeting regularly to coordinate positions and enhance tripartite cooperation.
