PM: We are working to establish a permanent secretariat to coordinate work between the three countries

    Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirmed, today, Sunday, that joint action requires consolidation and unification of positions.

    Al-Kadhimi said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "I welcome my guest of Iraq, His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in Baghdad, the city of peace. We are happy with you in Baghdad," noting that "this visit is an important message to our peoples that we are mutually supportive and complementary." In order to work to serve our peoples and the peoples of the region.”
    He added, "This visit takes place at a time and at a dangerous historical turning point that the region and all countries of the world are going through, especially with the challenges of the Corona epidemic," explaining that "it is no secret to anyone that the most important challenges we face are the Corona pandemic, difficult economic conditions, security challenges and the fight against terrorism."
    He pointed out that "Iraq has gone through a harsh experience in confronting terrorism and succeeded in eliminating these groups, although some small pockets remain for these groups of terrorists and we must work and coordinate between our three countries to confront these challenges and work to dispel them in order to serve our peoples and the peoples of the region."

    The Prime Minister continued, "Joint action needs to consolidate and unify positions in order to work on the path of development and develop the region and its peoples," calling for taking advantage of all available capabilities through geographical communication between the three countries in terms of economic fields, as well as in order to serve the social aspect under delicate circumstances through which the region passes.
