Oman supports Iraq's membership in the International Labor Organization's Board of Directors

    The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its support for Iraq's candidacy for membership in the Board of Directors of the International Labor Organization.

    A statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "the Chargé d'Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Muscat, Muhammad Issa Al-Issawi, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Khalifa bin Ali Al-Harthy, and during the meeting, they discussed the brotherly relations of the two brotherly countries."
    The statement added that "the two sides discussed many topics, including expediting the meeting of the Iraqi-Omani Joint Committee in Baghdad, signing several memoranda of understanding within its agenda, exempting Iraqi citizens from delay fines resulting from the delay in renewing their passports, and increasing the number of study seats granted to Iraqi students studying." In the Sultanate, and the exclusion of Iraqis coming to the Sultanate and official delegations from the precautionary measures for the Corona virus, including their exclusion from the institutional quarantine.

    The statement noted that " the two sides also discussed support for Iraq 's nomination for membership of the ILO Governing Body for the Group of Western Asia for the period 2021-2024 during the elections by default will take place on the sidelines of the session 109.
