The Minister of Culture, Hassan Nadhiim, confirmed today, Thursday, that there is an increasing demand for reading electronic books, while expressing his thanks to all those in charge of organizing the International Book Fair.
Today, Thursday, the activities of the Baghdad International Book Fair began under the slogan (The Book - Homeland) for the period from June 10-20, with the participation of more than 228 local, Arab and foreign publishing houses from 14 countries.
Nadhiim said in a speech during the opening of the International Book Fair, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Iraqis have updated Arabic poetry, and they are among the first pioneers in that," noting that "there is a demand and an increase in reading electronic books, and some imagine that it will overcome paper books.".
Nadhiim expressed his thanks to "all those in charge of organizing the International Book Fair," noting that "the exhibition was also co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Interior and the Baghdad Municipality."
