Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein announced today, Tuesday, the signing of a document of understanding between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
Hussein said in a joint press conference with the British Foreign Minister, attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the meeting touched on a set of issues related to the strategic relations between the two countries," noting that "Iraqi-British relations are based on mutual respect."
He added, "Britain plays an important role in the reconstruction of the liberated cities," noting that "the international support for the electoral process in Iraq was discussed during the meeting."
Hussein indicated that "sending international observers to Iraq came in order to build confidence between citizens and political parties."
For his part, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab expressed his happiness to visit Iraq, noting that "
