Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirmed today, Saturday, Iraq's aspiration for more cooperation with Germany.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received the German ambassador to Iraq, Ole Diel, on the occasion of the end of his work."
Al-Kadhimi stressed, according to the statement, "Iraq is looking forward to more constructive cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany and the rest of the European Union, in the interest of the Iraqi and German people, and he also praised the ambassador's efforts during his tenure in Iraq."
The Prime Minister welcomed, "the continuation of good bilateral relations between Baghdad and Berlin in various economic, political and cultural fields, especially the work of German companies and investment in Iraq citizen's livelihood.
For his part, Ambassador Diehl conveyed, "The German government's aspiration to develop relations with Iraq to serve common interests, and renewed his government's supportive approach to Iraq in facing the current challenges, the most important of which is economic reform and the war on terrorism."
