Iraqi sculptor Ahmed Al-Bahrani confirmed, today, Monday, that the Minister of Youth and Sports Adnan Darjal showed great interest in completing the 25th Gulf monument, whose designs were proposed, at the entrance to the Sports City in Basra Governorate.
Al-Bahrani suggested earlier, several designs to erect a monument for the Gulf Cup 25 championship after Basra won the honor of organizing.
In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Bahrani said, "The Minister of Youth and Sports, Adnan Darjal, visited him during his recent visit to Doha, and during the meeting, the most important event on the Iraqi sports arena was discussed, which is the Gulf Cup 25", pointing out that "the conversation included a discussion of establishing a monument. At the entrance to the Sports City, commemorating or documenting this important event and the chasm of Gulf football's return to the arms of Iraq. "
He added, "Darjal showed great interest and cooperation to establish the work at the entrance to the Sports City in Basra Governorate, and there are approvals from most of the officials to erect the monument."
He added, "He will present a detailed study on the sculpture (the monument) to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and those in charge of the championship," indicating also that "the cost is related to the workplace and its size, and we will fully take into account that this work has its moral value more than its material value."
