Baghdad-INA
The Anbar Governor's Advisor for Energy Affairs Aziz Khalaf Al-Tarmouz announced today, Monday, the construction of a 250-megawatt power plant in Al-Qaim.
Al-Tarmouz said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the engineering cadres are continuing their efforts to complete the crutches gas power station in Al-Qaim district, within the official timings."
He added that "the work includes installing the main and autotransformers in the station, extending cables in addition to starting to connect the station with the control and power systems," noting that "the station includes two units, each unit with a capacity of 125 megawatts, so that the total is 250 megawatts."
Al-Tarmouz added, "The work has been completed in the first unit and has been operated experimentally," explaining that "one of the obstacles facing the station is that it is not connected to the national network due to the reluctance of the General Electric Power Transmission Company to make its procedures linking it to Al-Wataniya."
Al-Tarmouz emphasized that "this station works with gas and gas oil."
