The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condemnation of the terrorist explosion that took place near a school in the Afghanistan capital, Kabul, while stressing the need to confront extremism gangs.
"Iraq expresses its strong condemnation of the terrorist explosion that occurred last Saturday near a school in the Afghanistan capital, Kabul, in which a number of people were killed and others were injured," ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency.
He added, "We offer our condolences to the government and people of Afghanistan, and affirm Iraq's position rejecting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and its standing with the international community in the face of terrorism, especially as Iraq has fought extremist gangs and ISIS atonement," stressing the "necessity of an intellectual confrontation with these groups."
Last Saturday, the Afghan Ministry of Interior announced that an explosion occurred near a school in the capital, Kabul, killing 58 people and wounding more than 100 others, most of them students.
