Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, announced the formation of committees to schedule the withdrawal of the international coalition forces, while noting the implementation of operations in areas of security vacuums with the regional guards to strike terrorism.
"There is coordination with the provincial guards to fill the gaps between the provincial guard forces and the federal government forces," Rasool told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), noting that "through intelligence information, several operations were carried out in these areas,"
"Work continues to pursue ISIS terrorist gangs in those areas, and we aspire in the future to end these vacuums," added Rasool.
He affirmed that "technical committees have been formed that work to hold several meetings on scheduling the withdrawal of the US-Led international coalition," indicating that "we have succeeded, through strategic dialogue, in converting the international coalition forces from combat to training,"
Rasool referred to "the need for training, arming, equipping, and exchanging intelligence information without requesting the need for any fighter from the coalition, because this leads to the completion of building the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces," explaining that "the dialogue is ongoing and includes positive outcomes,"
