The Parliamentary Human Rights Committee confirmed, today, Tuesday, that the tragedy of Ibn Al-Khatib calls for urgent action to restore hospitals.
The head of the committee, Arshad al-Salihi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital tragedy calls for urgent action to restore hospitals,” indicating that “the report of the Parliamentary Health Committee about the accident is rudimentary and weak.”
He explained that "Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital was built since the 1950s and it was a mistake to convert it into a Corona clinic, and it is right to set up private hospitals and build a central oxygen tank in it."
He added that "placing oxygen bottles near patients is a time bomb," noting that "the House of Representatives, during its session to discuss this tragedy, obligated the Council of Ministers to direct the Ministry of Finance to restore neglected hospitals."
