The Ministry of Health set today, Thursday, the date for reviewing the ban measures, while confirming the conduct of more than 500 open heart surgeries for children inside the country.
Health Minister Hassan Al-Tamimi said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The ministry has begun to bring in dozens of foreign teams and consider them as an alternative to medical evacuation and travel cases for treatment outside Iraq," indicating that "thousands of different operations have been performed and about 500 open heart operations for children. It was distributed between the governorates of Karbala, Najaf, Babylon and Baghdad. "
He added, "The recruitment of medical teams contributed to saving the sums and easing procedures, and the prices of operations and travel costs decreased by 40%, in addition to their contribution to the training of medical and nursing staff," pointing out that "the ministry is directing to bring in many teams within the new hospitals, which will soon be completed throughout Country. "
Al-Tamimi indicated, "The ministry's door is open to citizens by reviewing citizens' affairs, as cases are interviewed and reviewed by a specialized team of doctors, and the reception of patients in the ministry's office has greatly contributed to taking urgent measures to treat them."
The end of this year excludes the issue of medical evacuation except for very few cases, which will contribute to raising the medical level inside the country. "
