A senior US administration official said that President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw US forces from Afghanistan aims to allocate and focus more resources to meet the challenges in the Indian and Pacific Oceans .
White House spokesman said in a press statement, "One of the reasons that prompted the president and his team to take cautious steps in Afghanistan is to provide time and resources for our leadership and the army for more attention and focus on what we consider to be major challenges for the twenty-first century, which are mainly linked to the Indian and Pacific Oceans. ".
This statement comes after the new US administration’s recent announcement that it will start withdrawing forces from Afghanistan by the first of May, and will end it before September 11th .
The US administration said that the withdrawal will be done in full coordination with allies and partners .
