Minister of Youth and Sports, Adnan Darjal, and the British ambassador to Baghdad, Stephen Hickey, suggested that a friendly match to be held between the pioneers of Iraq and England.
Darjal received on Wednesday, the British ambassador in Baghdad, Stephen Hickey, at his office at the ministry’s headquarters, according to a statement by the media office of the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
During the meeting, Darjal reviewed the ministry's efforts to embrace youth and pave the way for them to develop their capabilities and show their talents despite the difficult health conditions due to the spread of the Corona pandemic that affected life in general, as well as to educate young people in times of approaching parliamentary elections.
The minister explained to the ambassador the ministry’s basic duties in educating young people to participate in elections, “presenting awareness programs, and how to choose the best way to serve the country in the current stage that requires work and providing support in addition to assisting the youth that we rely on in building Iraq,”
For his part, British Ambassador to Iraq Stephen Hickey affirmed his country's keenness to contribute to supporting youth in all aspects through the late Prince Philip Foundation, which cares for youth in UK and the world.
