GMC counts the most prominent achievements of MOH

    The Government Media Cell announced today, Tuesday, the most prominent achievements of the Ministry of Health during 8 months.
    In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the cell stated that the Ministry of Health, as part of its plan to control the outbreak of the new Corona virus, achieved an increase by adding 12,000 beds, 9,000 ventilators, and 68 laboratories in less than a year to treat the injured in Baghdad and the rest of the provinces.
    They added, "The ministry has succeeded during the period from (May to December 2020) to raise the number of beds from (45) thousand to (57) thousand beds, and to add more than (9) thousand artificial respirators, and to increase the number of corona diagnostic laboratories from two laboratories to (70) laboratories, increasing the (PCR) devices from (7) devices to (216) devices, and more than (30) spiral scanner devices were added, and the storage capacity for oxygen increased from (292) thousand liters to one million five hundred thousand liters. And the provision of medicines, medical supplies, and laboratory tests to confront the Corona pandemic at a rate of (100%).
    Regarding the measures taken by the Ministry to create health institutions in light of the pandemic, it indicated that “the Ministry continues to complete (60) hospitals in various governorates, and rehabilitate and rebuild (43) hospitals. In addition to the establishment of health centers spread throughout the governorates, for quick treatment.
    Regarding local and international cooperation to combat the Corona pandemic, she indicated that “the Ministry has undertaken to coordinate with all relevant departments to overcome obstacles in the context of confronting the pandemic, and to sign cooperation programs and agreements with international companies, organizations and institutions to provide preventive and treatment needs, and to coordinate and use more than (20) A country, a company and a global organization, and the establishment of integrated awareness programs to introduce the disease, its dangers, and ways to prevent it.
    And she continued, "The Iraqi government has harnessed all its capabilities, in coordination with the relevant official institutions, to support the ministry’s effort to confront the Corona pandemic, by allocating an amount of (100) million dollars for the purchase of vaccines and another (100) million dollars for the purchase of devices and equipment, and preparing a draft law for the provision and use of vaccines.
