Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed today, Sunday, to prepare for a meeting with a delegation of Basra protesters.
His media office stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Kadhimi , during his visit to Basra Governorate, met with a group of young demonstrators who gathered near the gate of the large Faw port project."
The statement added, "The Prime Minister listened to their proposals and stressed that demonstrating is a legitimate right and is protected by the state with all its agencies, provided that this right does not lead to damage and threaten public and private property."
