President Barham Salih, called for the return of Yazidi IDPs to their areas, while stressing the need to organize and rebuild Sinjar.
Salih received on Wednesday, the delegation of the Yazidi Council in Sinjar, according to a statement by Media Office of the President, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
During the meeting, they discussed the overall security, service and humanitarian conditions in Sinjar and the obstacles facing the people, as it was emphasized that “measures should be taken to achieve security and stability in the city”.
The President stressed "the importance of providing the requirements for the voluntary, safe and dignified return of the Yazidi IDPs who were forced by the conditions of terrorism to be displaced," adding, "There is a need to overcome political and administrative obstacles that prevent justice for victims' families, and work to organize the administration in Sinjar based on the will of people away from political conflicts and rebuilding the city, enhancing its security and stability, as well as providing material aid and basic services,”
