The head of the inspection team in the Gulf delegation currently in Basra, Dr. Hamid Al-Shaibani, confirmed the approval of three football stadiums in Basra if the twenty-fifth edition of the championship was approved in Basra .
A statement by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which the Iraqi News Agency (INA) received a copy of, said: "A meeting was held between the Minister of Youth and Sports Adnan Darjal and the Gulf delegation, the head of the normalization body, and the governor of Basra in Sports City."
The statement continued, "Al-Shaibani said that the Basra International Stadium, with a capacity of 65,000 spectators, and the Mina Stadium with a capacity of 30,000 spectators, are the two main stadiums for the tournament, and the secondary stadium will be approved for ten thousand as an alternative stadium, in addition to other training grounds."
