INA - Kirkuk Personnel in the Commission of Integrity/Investigation Bureau in Kirkuk succeeded, through coordination with the Office of the Inspector General in the Interior Ministry, in detaining 8 persons accused of taking possession of a real estate owned by the state, with an area of 5 Acres and estimated value of (2500) million ID. The Commission Investigation Bureau went on to say, through a statement which the INA acquired a version of, that the Bureau personnel succeeded after tedious tracking and probing in detaining the persons who unjustly took possession of the mentioned real estate, located in Hay Al Wsaiti down the city of Kirkuk, which originally belongs to the Ministry of Finance. By issuing false deed the persons accused endeavoured to devide the asset into residential plots, as a preliminary step towards selling them to citizens. Those accused, the Investigation Bureau added, were caught in the act according to act (240) of the penal law. All unlawful documentations implemented in the process were also seized and a formal record was prepared and put before the judge in order to take the proper action. The Commission of Integrity had announced on 17 of May last that they have already recovered lands in Kirkuk that originally belonged to the state. Translated by Anees Al-Saffar
