The Ministry of Planning announced today, Tuesday, that it will submit its recommendations for the resumption of work on the Baghdad-Haditha power line project to the Council of Ministers in the coming days.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the media office of the ministry stated that “Minister of Planning Khaled Battal Al-Najm chaired a meeting that included the head of the Reconstruction Fund Muhammad Hashem Al-Ani, representatives of the Ministry of Electricity and the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, as well as the two undersecretaries of the Ministry of Planning.”
Al-Battal stressed that "the (Baghdad-Haditha) power line is of great importance in improving the reality of national electricity throughout Iraq, and filling the energy needs of Anbar Province," noting that "this project will connect the national grid line from the Hamidiyah area west of Baghdad," The Haditha Dam water station, which contains 6 units, will provide 660 megawatts upon completion of its rehabilitation, which is in the process of referral.
