The Ministry of Health and Environment confirmed that there is a low turnout of citizens to register for the Corona vaccine.
The Director of Public Health at the Ministry, Abdul Amir Al-Halfi, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Citizens’ turnout for the Corona vaccine is very weak, as the number of people registered for the vaccine has reached 68,000 so far, ”indicating that“ people's reluctance to take the vaccine is not In Iraq only, but even in Arab countries, unlike European countries, whose citizens flock to take vaccine doses.
He stressed "communicating with global health organizations and UNICEF alongside the World Bank to carry out intensive media awareness campaigns to convince society of the competence and importance of taking the vaccine," calling on "government agencies, civil society, clerics and clans to urge citizens to take the vaccine."
The Ministry of Health had launched an electronic platform to register citizens wishing to obtain the Corona vaccine.
"An electronic platform has been prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and the Communications Commission so that the vaccine is distributed free of charge to all governorates of Iraq, including the Kurdistan region."
