The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, revealed a plan to monitor terrorists on the borders, while noting that the international coalition handed Iraq 36 towers with its cameras.
Rasoul said to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There is a follow-up by the security and intelligence agencies on the issue of targeting lines carrying electric power," indicating that "the directives of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces include not allowing the repeated targeting of these lines."
He added, "The Commander-in-Chief confirmed during the National Security Council meeting that our units will deal firmly and forcefully with anyone who tries to tamper with the transmission lines of electric power," noting that "the units are doing their duty correctly today to secure electric power for all the Iraqi people."
Regarding border control, Rasoul affirmed, "We are working on the issue of thermal cameras, and our units operate in the border areas that connect us with neighboring Syria and in some areas where we can use technology, especially open ones that terrorists might use to infiltrate," noting that "the international coalition handed us over a few days ago." More than 36 surveillance towers, with their cameras and generators, which will contribute to monitoring and pursuing ISIS terrorist elements. "
