Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhmi visited the headquarters of the Ministry of Oil and met his minister and the advanced staff there.

A statement of the Prime Minister’s media office received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "Al-Kadhmi affirmed his keenness to visit the Ministry of Oil at this stage and after the completion of the government formation, because of the importance and role of this ministry in sustaining the Iraqi economy, and implementing the duties assigned to it without any default.

We look forward  For the Ministry of Oil to carry out its duties and advance its work, "stating that" the oil sector is one of the oldest sectors, and we must work to restore it to health. "

Al-Kadhmi stressed “the independence of the Ministry of Oil, and that work and projects continue in it, and we want the Ministry to be a model in the institutional development of the Iraqi state, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity away from narrow passions and interests,” pointing to the need to introduce financial and economic reforms in the work of the Ministry of Oil.

He pointed out that "the public budget depends on oil revenues by 95%, and this is evidence of the failure of previous policies," noting that "his government is working to maximize other revenues, and that oil revenues be converted into development work projects to serve the Iraqi economy."
