Ministry of Health announced the discovery of two new cases of Coronavirus in Baghdad.
"Two new confirmed cases of the new Coronavirus have been discovered in Rusafa district of Baghdad," the ministry spokesman, Saif Al Badr, said in a statement to Iraqi News Agency INA.
He pointed out that the patients were in Iran and recently returned to the country.
"The Ministry's staff followed up the case of the patients and took the required samples to carry out laboratory tests and found that the results of the tests are positive and they are currently in the institutions of the Ministry of Health and the Environment to follow up on the patients’ health condition," added Al-Badr.
He continued, "All necessary measures have been taken to deal with the cases along with those who are in close contact with them, according to the international health regulations"
According to the statement, the ministry called on all institutions and citizens to abide by the directives issued by the Ministerial Cell for Crisis and Commission Order No. 55, 2020 to counter Coronavirus, which would prevent the spread.
