The Governor of Najaf, Ashraf Loay Al-Yasiri, announced today, Thursday, that preventive measures have been taken to prevent the transmission of the Corona virus.
Al-Yasiri said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the local government and through the provincial health directorate have taken all measures and precautions to prevent the transmission of the Corona virus to the governorate through the governor's meeting with the Najaf health department," noting that "border crossings, especially Najaf airport Al-Ashraf has taken the necessary measures to examine all arrivals to the governorate with modern devices such as thermometers and thermal cameras, in addition to setting places designated for quarantining any suspected case and dealing with it with a high medical professional by specialized Najaf doctors.
Al-Yasiri called on "the federal government and the ministries of interior and health to take the necessary precautions to prevent the transmission of the virus to Iraq through the land border, water and air ports and the deployment of health detachments supported by modern devices to monitor any case of infection if it tried to enter Iraq," demanding "citizens not to travel at the present time outside the province and the country."
