A statement of the President’s Office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "President Salih met the French ambassador to Iraq, Bruno Oper, and discussed with him bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in all fields, and to ensure the continuation of joint cooperation between Iraq and France, in the interest of the two friendly peoples." , Noting that "the latest developments and developments in the political and security scene in the region were discussed."
The statement added that "it was stressed the need to respect the will of Iraq in its independent national decision and protect its security and stability."
