Salih: the need to intensify efforts to support Iraq, its pivotal role in reducing tension in the region

President Barham Salih stressed on Sunday the need to intensify the efforts of the international community to support Iraq in its pivotal role in easing tension in the region and consolidating international peace and security.The President of the Republic received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jenin Hennes Plaschaert, his information office said in a statement received.

President Salih stressed the importance of the role of the organization and its efforts in supporting the democratic process in the country, pointing to the need to intensify the efforts of the international community to support Iraq in its pivotal role in reducing tension in the region, and to consolidate international peace and security, stressing that the Iraqis are looking forward to a new phase of security, stability and prosperity.
