
Iraqi President Barham Salih discussed on Tuesday with US Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations, Denise Natali, and the accompanying delegation, ways of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and US, as well as widening the scope of cooperation in favor of common interests between the two friendly countries.
In a statement, received by INA, the presidential information office announced that President Salih hailed US support for Iraq in various fields, particularly the war on terrorism and extending assistance to the refugees and displaced people in Iraq to facilitate returning them to their areas and help reconstructing those which suffered most damages.
Ms Natali, in her turn, renewed her country’s support for Iraq to help it consolidate its security and stability, noting that US state department had taken a vital role in supporting Iraqi refugees and displaced people through a program especially designed for that purpose.
