US President Donald Trump affirmed on Friday that Canada should be a US state.
Trump said in press statements: "Our country needs honest, credible journalists," noting that "tens of billions will be returned to us through the imposition of tariffs."
Trump added that "April 2nd will be America's Liberation Day, and tens of billions will be returned to us in the form of tariffs." He explained that "many countries have requested exemptions from tariffs, and we will be flexible in this regard."
He emphasized that "Canada has taken advantage of our country for a long time and imposed heavy tariffs on us," noting that "we do not need Canadian products, and their subsidies cost us $200 billion a year."
Trump continued by saying: "Canada should be a US state," noting that "Canada should be a US state, and the border with Canada is an artificial line."
