Barcelona Club officially announced the renewal of the contract of its young defender, Pau Coparsi, until June 30, 2029.

The club had reached an agreement with the player since last May, but waited until he reached the legal age to complete the official signing, and after three weeks of celebrating his eighteenth birthday, the official announcement is only a matter of time.

Coparsi has become a key element in the team's lineup, where he played a pivotal role under the leadership of Xavi Hernandez, and continues to shine with coach Hans Flick, and is the only defender who participated in all 36 Barcelona matches this season, along with Jules Kounde, which reflects his importance in the back line.

Coparsi played 60 matches with the first team, and provided four assists, including three this season, although he has not scored any goals so far, and he also won the best player award in two Champions League matches, in his first appearance against Monaco last season, and then against Brest this season.

With this renewal, Barcelona seeks to ensure the continuation of one of its most prominent defensive talents, in a move that reflects the club's commitment to its long-term sporting project.
